If reading was my first love, writing is absolutely my second.

When I was 10 years old I got a set of encyclopedias for Xmas and my brothers and sisters laughed, I couldn’t have been any happier. The following year someone gave me a second-hand typewriter and I hounded my mum for weeks to replace the ribbon so I could actually use the damn thing.

I produced my first book “One of 6” aged 12…and the rest is history.

Diaries, Journals, Essays…any excuse to get my thoughts on to paper. When I came into the world of blogging in 2010 I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Hundreds of blogs and 8 books later I still haven’t lost my love for getting my thoughts down for others to read.

In this blog you will find my views on the world, what I am up to in the world of life coaching, adventuring and motivational speaking and hopefully find some useful practical advice which will help you live a bigger more exciting life.

Enjoy.

PS. I love to get comments, likes and shares…it makes me feel like someone is actually out there, and I am not 8 years old again writing important stuff nobody ever reads.

Do you have a heap of Tyre Kickers around your business?

I'd never really heard this phrase before until recently. I guess I don't hang around used car dealerships enough to know where the original phrase comes from, but its that idea that some people who come into your showroom will never buy from you...they will just walk...

Sometimes it is about the numbers

"Bums on seats....it's all about the bums on seats....but not just any old bums on seats, they have to be the right bums on seats" I remember my boss saying this to me in one of my first jobs, as a theatre usher at The Theatre Royal Stratford East, tearing tickets as...

New Offerings = New Beginnings (TB Class of Sept19)

Business owners create magic. They might not think so, but they do. They do that thing that my mum has been accusing me of for years, "Making something out of nothing." For the past 3 months, I have been working with 29 entrepreneurs on my incubator Tribe Builder, a...

Why it pays to be an early adopter

I've been thinking a lot recently about innovation. How lucky we are that so many inventors and entrepreneurs have been bold enough to create new things and just launch them into the world for us to enjoy. Our lives are filled with products, tech and all manner of...

Let me tell you what resistance looks like

Hands up who writes to-do lists? Who plans out their week? Gets super clear on their objectives? Knows 100% what they need to do today...and yet for some bazar reason, they still don't do it? Writing that proposal, going to the gym, making arrangements to see friends...

My most embarrassing moment as an entrepreneur

So 9 years ago I set up a blog all about being a plus-size runner. I was frustrated with the progress I was making, how difficult it was to find running gear to fit AND coming last in races. I did not intend for this blog to become a business, or for me to become a...

Rodney and Delboy have a lot to answer for

It's hardly surprising that growing up in the East End of London as a child during the 80s and 90s I had some quite questionable role models. My TV and film influences for example. Tuning into Eastenders, watching episodes of Minder and The Bill..oh and then later...
