If reading was my first love, writing is absolutely my second.

When I was 10 years old I got a set of encyclopedias for Xmas and my brothers and sisters laughed, I couldn’t have been any happier. The following year someone gave me a second-hand typewriter and I hounded my mum for weeks to replace the ribbon so I could actually use the damn thing.

I produced my first book “One of 6” aged 12…and the rest is history.

Diaries, Journals, Essays…any excuse to get my thoughts on to paper. When I came into the world of blogging in 2010 I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Hundreds of blogs and 8 books later I still haven’t lost my love for getting my thoughts down for others to read.

In this blog you will find my views on the world, what I am up to in the world of life coaching, adventuring and motivational speaking and hopefully find some useful practical advice which will help you live a bigger more exciting life.

Enjoy.

PS. I love to get comments, likes and shares…it makes me feel like someone is actually out there, and I am not 8 years old again writing important stuff nobody ever reads.

Last Orders

Do you know I used to be a barmaid? Best job in the world. Back in the summer of 1997 I had a place for University, and no money to actually live on while I was there...in Winchester, hundreds of miles away from home in East London. So I got a job in The Moon and...

What are you making space for in 2020?

I have been having the clear out of all clear outs. It's what we do right? In the lead up to Xmas we make room for new stuff (well you do when you have kids that's for sure) and then in the new year you have a bit of a declutter to start things fresh. Back in...

2019 (business) in review

I remember the first business review post I ever read. It was mid-December 2014. I had recently read the book Get Rich Lucky Bitch after making a concerted effort to read more from female business owners on the topic of money. I devoured the book in an afternoon,...

A thousand pound to spend on my business you say?

Anyone else spending money like it's going out of fashion? That's Xmas for you hey? I had a realisation yesterday on the way back from doing all of my xmas shopping (cos that's how I roll) that this is the first Xmas since being made redundant 7 years ago, where I...

Things I didn’t know a decade ago

There are 20 days left of this decade. And I for one am reflecting on how far I have come in the last 10 years. In 2010 I was working as a consultant on the London 2012 games, I had a number of different contracts working in the cultural and sports sector, bringing...

Books that moved me this year

I read lots. In fact, I often have multiple books on the go. I am currently listening to Martina Coles No Mercy on Audible for my long runs, have Esther and Jerry Hicks Ask and it is given in my bag for training journeys, and Michelle Obamas Belonging by my bedside. I...

“Want don’t get”…and other bullshit stories

I've always tried to instil a sense of anything is possible with my 6 year old daughter Rose. When she was around 3 years old all she wanted for xmas was a pack of disposable nappies for her dolls....easy right? I had bought her all kinds of other cool things and I...

It’s never too late

This evening I was supposed to go for a run. I am in training for my 6th marathon. It's all going a bit slow at the moment, I am training but possibly not as much as I could do. Tonight I decided not to run as I feel like my glands are swollen and I need my voice for...

How honest do you really want me to be as your coach?

I've been thinking a lot recently about the concept of tough love. Let's face it nobody likes criticism, it's tough hearing stuff that is uncomfortable to face in life and in business. But nobody ever got successful through being comfortable right? It's like when...
